Singer-songwriter-visual artist Joni Bishop has combined the world of folk music and folk art in her latest body of work, a collection of folk art portraits of some of America's legends of gospel, jazz and blues music. From Mahalia Jackson to Billie Holiday, from Louis Armstrong to Mississippi John Hurt, her paintings capture the spirit of these legendary artists and the music they interpreted. She uses bold, primary colors and adorns the portraits with songs that immortalized the legends who sang and played from their hearts and souls.

Joni has four CDs to her credit as well. She has frequently toured the country and the world and is not only a gifted performer with noteworthy guitar and vocal ability, but a songwriter of rare talent, whose organic, direct style touches the hearts of listeners everywhere.
